It’s been just over 18 months since I launched Liznylon Designs and nearly 50 blog posts later, I still have a long list of ideas to write about. Guess what happened?! I’m thrilled to bits and incredibly humbled to nominated for an Amara Interior Blog Award in the ‘Best Newcomer Category’. Eeeek. You probably know what I’m going to say, yes, I did a dance around the kitchen to celebrate. #geekmoment
To cut to the chase, I’d be extremely grateful if you’d vote for me. You can click HERE. Now I can make all sorts of promises from running a giveaway on wallpaper samples or moodboard designs or your very own feature in Crush Lust Stalk. BUT … Amara has already taken care of this and have organised their own giveaway. How FAB is that?!
It’s a Leica SOFORT camera with a mode for party & people, sport & action and macro AND it has a self-portrait setting for all your selfie needs. To be in with the chance of winning, all you have to do is submit at least one vote for your favourite blog before 12pm BST on Wednesday 4th September 2019. One lucky winner will then be announced on Wednesday 26th September. Here are the T&Cs.
The AMARA Blog Awards are broken into 10 categories, so have a look at all of them as some of your fave bloggers might be up for an award in one of these categories:
I thought I’d take this opportunity to also do a high-lights reel of my blogs over the past 18 months. Just in case you missed any – or – didn’t realise there was a scroll down feature. Yes, I’m being cheeky.
Potentially one of my all time favourite things is to chat up “Interior Idols” these are interior designers, makers, artists, textile designers, photographers, architects about what inspires them. I call this series “Crush Lust Stalk”. Just look at this line up Sarah Akwisombe, Kitty McCall, Catalog Interiors, Wendy Morrison, Hatti Pattisson, Nor_folk, Bohemia Design, Gayle Mansfield Designs, Soo Burnell, Pad Lifestyle, Happy Retro Furniture, Mimi Pickard Textiles, Porteous Studio, Mairi Helena, Susi Bellamy, and Wicklewood. It’s always fun read, click HERE to have a read.
I‘ve been known to obsess over things – sexy sassy chairs, sultry reeded glass, the brightest happy colour, hello yellow. In honour of these obsessions, I’ve written detailed blogs to share the love. I have a few new blog posts in the making that fall into this category, so definitely be on the look out for my latest obsession.

I ramble on about what it’s like to be a student again and the ups and downs of studying interior design. There is always something new to learn and share. I also do recaps of trade shows and events that I attend. I have some new exciting posts in the works, so watch this space. Click HERE to have a read.
And then there is the helpful bits about DIY and renovating. I’ll happily admit that I’m not the most adept at DIY, so my guides are definitely geared towards beginners. I have however renovated four homes so I have become rather resourceful and skilled at managing a project. Click HERE to have a read.
A BIG thank you for reading.
I really appreciate it. I of course, have one last question … which blog posts have been your favourites or the most helpful or the most entertaining? There is a comment box below where you can answer random questions that I ask or you can always send me a DM on Insta. Hope you have a FAB weekend and don’t forget to VOTE. (thanks)
Cheers,
Liz xx
