The weekly mantel shuffle

Caught. Hands up. I confess, I have a problem. How often do you tinker? Swap furniture from room to room? Re-hang a gallery wall? Well, my vice is the mantelpiece. I guess there are worse vices to have. It has turned into a weekly obsession, the mantel shuffle.

So what’s in the making of a good mantel … here are a few ideas to get you thinking … (note: the opinions cited below are my own & are not endorsed by any formal training) 🙂

1 Items … Plants. Art. Flowers. Candles. Books. Vases. Clocks. Candlesticks. Trinkets. The more the merrier.

2 Sizes … Big. Small. Micro. Super sized. Mix it up to keep it interesting.

3 Shapes … Geometric. Curved. Square. Rectangle. Spikes. Feathers. There are no rules.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen the good, the bad, and the ugly as well as the spectacular, the drool worthy, and the downright Oscar & Nobel award winning styling.

For me, the mantel is the perfect way to keep any room looking fresh – just like cushions and artwork. Here’s my mantel for the art & jungalow obsessed …

As I promised, no rules, no right or wrong. Just some fun experimenting. Are you ready to jump in with me & keep things fresh with a monthly mantel shuffle? Go on, show me your mantel! xx

I do trust all the ideas you’ve presented in your post. They are really convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for newbies. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thanks for the post.
